Ellen is a native Charlottean and a trail blazer. She is a pioneering business woman and the driving force behind the McNinch House.
After purchasing the property from the McNinch family in 1978, Ellen spent a decade personally restoring the McNinch House. She opened the McNinch House Restaurant in January 1989 and served as the restaurant’s first chef.
According to Ellen she is, “Living my dream!”
Matthew was born and raised in North Carolina. He has fond memories of helping his mother and grandmother in the kitchen when he was five years old. That’s when he knew he wanted to be a chef.
He moved to Charlotte to attend Johnson and Wales University where he graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management. His kitchen experience has extended for over 8 years, most of which was in private country clubs and now he has taken the position of Executive Chef.
Anthony ” Wes” Wesley is a wine educator and lecturer with over twenty one years of fine-dining experience.
He trained at New York’s Windows on the World Wine School, where he graduated in 1995.
Wes is constantly seeking out wines that pair well with our multi-course dinners.
As Anthony explains, “We choose wines first on merit and their ability to pair with our dinners, then on value and breadth. Additionally, our chef will present new courses each day to orient my palate for that evening’s menu.”
Dining Room Manager
Corey is also a Native Charlottean and a graduate of CPCC.
He began as a busby at the McNinch House in 1997 and worked is way up through the ranks. Corey was promoted to Dining Room Manager of McNinch House in 2007 .
Corey explains that at the McNinch House, “Our goal is to treat each guest as if we are serving our own family.”
